Welcome to BoulderScoring. By accessing or using our website, mobile applications, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. Overview

BoulderScoring is a competition management platform for bouldering and climbing events. The Service allows competition organizers ("Organizers") and participants ("Climbers") to manage, score, and view results for climbing competitions.

2. Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.

3. Competition Data Ownership

By participating in a competition through the Service, you acknowledge and agree that all competition data — including but not limited to your name, scores, attempts, rankings, and results — becomes the property of BoulderScoring. This data is integral to the integrity of competition records and historical standings.

Competition data will be retained even if you delete your account. This is necessary to preserve the accuracy and integrity of competition results, standings, and historical records. Removing individual participant data from completed competitions would compromise the results for all other participants.

4. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account at any time. Upon account deletion:

  • Your login credentials and authentication data will be removed.
  • Your personal profile information (email address, contact details) will be deleted.
  • Competition data associated with your participation — including your name as entered for competitions, scores, attempts, and rankings — will be retained as described in Section 3.

This retention is necessary because competition results are shared records that affect the standings of all participants. Deleting one participant's data would alter the results for everyone involved.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service.
  • Submit false or misleading information, including fraudulent competition results.
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content (excluding user-submitted competition data), is owned by BoulderScoring and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our prior written consent.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BoulderScoring shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
